Yesterday Coinbase Wallet announced the launch of Quest, an educational program aimed at bringing millions of users on-chain.
Coinbase Wallet users can now start earning crypto rewards by completing quests within the mobile app. This is designed to guide users in interacting with web3 applications, and the first quest focusing on Optimism (OP) is already live. Quests are an essential way of showing consumers that there is more than merely trading and speculation in the web3 world. Also, they are key gateways opening up to a whole new range of experiences.
Quests on Coinbase Wallet
Coinbase Wallet is the gateway to the world of Web3, and Quests are a great way for users to get started. Quests on Coinbase Wallet provide an interactive experience that walks users through all Optimism offers. Similar to other learn-and-earn programs, developers of Coinbase Wallet have revealed that completing quests will reward users with OP tokens—directly from their Coinbase Wallet.
Furthermore, Web3 enthusiasts can learn how to swap, delegate, and stake their tokens, all while earning rewards. Quests on Coinbase Wallet are a new way to get hands-on web3 experience, with exciting rewards for completing them.
Optimism Coinbase Wallet’s first quest is to swap ETH on its Optimism network for USDC, DAI, USDT, or WBTC with impressively low transaction fees (up to 10 times lower than that of Layer 1 Ethereum). As a bonus for completing this task, users will receive a reward of 2 OP.
To begin using Quests on Coinbase Wallet, Coinbase Wallet also revealed that users need to download the Coinbase Wallet app from either the App Store (for iOS) or Google Play Store (for Android). Quests are only available on the mobile version of Coinbase Wallet. Users can create a new wallet from scratch or import their existing one by entering their seed phrase.
To complete the swap process, users need to obtain ETH tokens on the Optimism network. This can be done by buying and transferring ETH directly from Coinbase Wallet to the Optimism network, transferring it from their Coinbase account, or using a bridge such as those provided through the Optimism Gateway.
