This unique event, scheduled from January 9 to January 30, promises an array of Final Fantasy 7-themed cosmetics and a brand-new game mode known as the Final Fantasy 7 Takeover.
Final Fantasy 7 Takeover game mode
The centerpiece of this event, the Final Fantasy 7 Takeover, will temporarily replace the unranked Battle Royale mode in Apex Legends. Players can wield the iconic Buster Sword, a symbol synonymous with the Final Fantasy 7 franchise.
This remarkable weapon comes with unique features, including light and heavy attacks, a dash ability, and the capability to block incoming damage. Players can also accumulate a Limit Break gauge, granting access to signature attacks reminiscent of Final Fantasy 7’s protagonist, Cloud Strife.
Apex Legends enthusiasts can unlock the Buster Sword R5 melee cosmetic outside the Takeover mode. While it doesn’t offer mechanical advantages, it allows players to wield the distinctive Buster Sword design in any mode, replacing their heirloom or fists. It’s worth noting that the Buster Sword R5 won’t be available in the Mythic Shop, making it a sought-after item for collectors.
A wealth of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth cosmetics
Throughout the Apex Legends & Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Event, players can expect to discover 36 unlockable cosmetic items, all inspired by the iconic Final Fantasy 7 universe. The crossover event also introduces six new Iconic Legend Skins for direct purchase through the in-game store.
