Red Dead Redemption could finally be coming to PC

Red Dead Redemption, a popular Rockstar action-adventure game, may soon be available for PC players. The hint was leaked in the most unusual place, the PlayStation Store, which was updated with information indicating PC users will, for the first time, enjoy the game’s experiences.

The Rockstar action-adventure game Red Dead Redemption turned 14 in May this year. The game was first released in 2010 and was available on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Switch.

However, the developers have never released a PC port for the game since its launch. The leaks suggest PC gamers may finally get their hands on Red Dead Redemption.

The game’s version consoles, such as PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S, were released later when these gaming devices launched. However, a leak on the PlayStation Store hinted that the PC port could be on the way.

The Red Dead Redemption PC port may be out soon

The leak first surfaced on the internet through an X user who posted a screenshot from the PlayStation Store with updated information on the incoming PC port.

According to the leak, gamers will enjoy the “experience of epic western adventures that define a generation—now on PC for the first time ever,” indicating an update on the game’s PC port that may be coming soon.

The leak also revealed that the PC port would bear all features available on the 2023 updated console versions with PC enhancement elements, including support for increased frame rates and resolutions, multiple display features, and spatial surround sound, among other PC-exclusive features.

Also, the game’s PC port will likely remain single-player and will not feature Red Dead Redemption’s multiplayer component as the console versions do.

The Red Dead Redemption’s long wait for PC port may end soon

The PC update on the PlayStation Store has since been removed. However, the leak could be a sign of hope for PC gamers. Rockstar Games is known for releasing its games on gaming consoles first before releasing PC ports later on. For instance, GTA V’s PC port was released 18 months after the developer launched the game on PS3 and Xbox 360.

The much-anticipated GTA 6 will most likely not be an exception. A former Rockstar developer confirmed that the game will debut as a console-only game. The developer also suggested that the game developer lacked the necessary resources to develop the game’s PC and console versions simultaneously.

However, as previously witnessed, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy: Definitive Edition, featuring Grand Theft Auto III, San Andreas, and GTA Vice City, was released on console and PC in 2021. Therefore, PC gamers may have to wait a little longer to access Rocksters’ unreleased PC ports.
