Amazon’s rumored venture into developing its own NFT marketplace has sparked considerable anticipation. However, the retail giant has already begun its NFT journey via its Prime Gaming portal, where it offers a selection of NFTs for free to its subscribers. For those subscribed to Amazon Prime, a variety of free NFTs are readily available, presenting an array of assets usable within existing blockchain games.
Amazon’s journey in the NFT world begins
The NFTs encompass playable characters, special outfits, and skins, representing valuable assets worth seizing. The firm has distributed these complimentary NFTs across multiple gaming platforms, including Mojo Melee and Blankos Block Party. With an estimated 170 million Prime subscribers, the potential to obtain these NFTs is significant. To keep users engaged, the selection of available gaming NFTs is continuously refreshed and updated. Recent additions include Brawlers, previously known as Blockchain Brawlers, which recently debuted on the Epic Games Store post-rebranding.
The developer, Tyranno Studios, secured a deal with the firm, offering exclusive benefits to Prime Gaming members. Running until November 23, Amazon Prime Gaming subscribers can claim the free character, Mike Yellerbelly, in addition to eight deck cards and three strategic moves within the card-driven pro wrestling game. A representative from WAX clarified that while the character is represented as an NFT on the WAX network, the other components are purely in-game items and not tokenized. Mojo Melee is an accessible web-based “auto battler” game reminiscent of Auto Chess and Teamfight Tactics.
Diverse offerings and strategies to engage users
Mojo Melee will provide Amazon Prime members with a free NFT and in-game currency. Developer Mystic Moose solidified a six-month partnership with Amazon, and the fourth monthly pack has just been released. Up until November 27, Prime subscribers can claim the free pack, which includes a Polygon NFT for the in-game platypus champion, Veren Mostelier, along with an in-game pack of 885 Ore. This marks the fourth champion character Amazon has awarded to Prime subscribers.
Amazon Prime Gaming is among the perks offered to subscribers of Amazon’s Prime membership service. It bestows exclusive benefits, ranging from free in-game content to entirely free games that users can download and retain. Beyond NFT-based gaming, Amazon collaborates with publishers of major games like League of Legends, Roblox, and Diablo IV, offering free in-game content to subscribers. The assortment of complimentary content is consistently updated, encompassing both renowned franchises and indie favorites.
Amazon’s entry into the NFT realm reflects a broader industry trend, signaling the company’s intent to cater to its substantial Prime user base with diverse digital offerings. The integration of NFTs into gaming showcases Amazon’s strategic approach to captivating and engaging its audience through innovative and exclusive content offerings. This aligns with the broader trend of NFT integration and the company’s efforts to offer compelling digital experiences to its vast user base.
