To bolster the Hong Kong Police Force’s (HKPF) efforts against cybercrime, Binance—the world’s foremost blockchain system and infrastructure provider—supported a Virtual Asset Investigation Course (VAIC) hosted by the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) of HKPF.
From January 30 to February 4, the CSTCB held a comprehensive five-day training program at the Hong Kong Police Headquarters. Representatives from the HKPF, ICAC, and C&E attended this initiative to expand their knowledge of cryptocurrency crimes and sharpen their skills for preventing them.
The Binance Law Enforcement Training and Investigations teams led a training session that delved into the intricacies of cryptocurrency investigation. Participants were briefed on various topics, such as case studies surrounding this type of analysis and how Binance can assist in criminal investigations by working with law enforcement agencies. This event provided invaluable insight to all involved, showcasing the importance of understanding digital currency’s role in today’s society.
Jarek Jakubcek, the Head of Law Enforcement Training at Binance, expressed that safeguarding users remains an utmost priority, and they are devoted to preserving a secure blockchain environment by reinforcing global cyber security. Collaborating with law enforcement agencies such as Hong Kong Police Force is indispensable for achieving this aim. As Binance continues its mission to eliminate bad actors from digital space, these collaborations have been encouragingly beneficial.
