Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster brings back the game series in a remake nearly a decade after its initial release. Capcom, the game’s developer, hopes to expand the game series depending on the success of the remake. The developer also released other details about the Deluxe Remastered game
Dead Rising made its comeback nearly a decade after the last game in the action-adventure game series was released. Capcom announced the latest Dead Rising remake game confusingly titled “Deluxe Remastered.” The game’s digital version is set to launch for PC and Xbox series X on September 19th, with the physical version coming out on November 8th.
Dead Rising rises from the grave
Dead Rising is a series of action-adventure games that was created by Keiji Inafune and developed by Capcom in 2006. The Dead Rising series ranks as Capcom’s sixth most successful intellectual property after the games sold 16 million copies worldwide.
Up until 2017, the game series had four main games. The game is set in fictional cities modeled after American towns like Willamette, Colorado. The original Dead Rising game follows Frank West, a freelance journalist, as he takes on the antagonists during a zombie outbreak.
In the Dead Rising games, the American government and Phenotrans, a multimillion-dollar pharmaceutical company, are the main antagonists. Both organizations work to hide their involvement with the zombie outbreaks using any means necessary.
As such, the game’s protagonists progress by completing missions, fighting zombies and various hostile survivors, saving people, and guiding them to safe houses. In-game combat involves using anything as a weapon and vehicles that can be combined to deal more damage to zombies.

The game’s development team also revealed that Frank West will get a new voice actor for the remake. The developers announced that Frank West will be voiced by Jas Patrick, known for his roles as Partitio Yellowil from Octopath Traveler 2, Dynamike from Brawl Stars, and Thunder McQueen from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.
Capcom had also previously revealed that the game would feature 17 extra costumes for Frank and matching mall music. These costumes and soundtracks include the popular designs and sounds from Resident Evil. The announcement of the game’s release elicited many fan reactions online, with players stating that they were eager to get back into the game after playing the original version.
After the release of Dead Rising 4, the franchise took a long hiatus. However, Capcom recently revealed Dead Rising Deluxe Remastered, a remake of the original game. The remake is set to have gotten a graphics overhaul, among other features, such as autosave, to improve its gameplay. The game reportedly uses Capcom’s RE engine. The developers are already exploring the possibility of an expansion of the series, contingent on the success of the Dead Rising remake.
