Former president of the United States, Donald Trump, recently took to his Truth Social platform to criticise anti-Trump political advocacy group Lincoln Project for allegedly using artificial intelligence to make him “look bad.”
The post from Trump, who is also running for the presidency in 2024, took aim at the ads reportedly pushed by Lincoln Project on Fox News, but also available on social platforms like YouTube and X. The ads included footage of gaffes during Trump’s presidency and his 2024 presidential campaign.
Trump Blames AI for Making Him Look Bad
Unimpressed by the move, Trump criticised Fox News for running the ads and also accused the Lincoln Project of using AI to paint him badly.
“The perverts and losers at the failed and once disbanded Lincoln Project, and others, are using A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) in their Fake television commercials in order to make me look as bad and pathetic as Crooked Joe Biden, not an easy thing to do,” Trump wrote late Monday.
It’s also worth noting Trump also made the news earlier this year due to fake AI-generated images of him getting arrested in New York. The images made rounds on Twitter, but many people soon caught that it was deepfaked using AI technology.
On X today, the co-founder of Lincoln Project, Rick Wilson, lashed out at Trump to dismiss the claim that the group turned to AI.
“Listen, you shambling pantloaf, we didn’t need AI to make you look like an impotent, drooling codger in steep cognitive decline,” Wilson posted. “ProjectLincoln just showed reality, and you can’t take it. Stay tuned for more. We know you can’t look away.”
What is The Lincoln Project?
The Lincoln Project is a conservative political action committee (PAC) founded in December 2019 by former Republican strategists and consultants who oppose Trumpism and 45th U.S. president Donald Trump. The organization’s stated goal is to “defeat Trump and Trumpism” and to “restore sanity and accountability to American politics.”
Lincoln Project has used a variety of tactics to achieve its goals, especially running ads that criticize Trump and his policies.
