Elon Musk has promised that legal bills of those ‘unfairly treated’ by their employers for posting content on the X platform (formerly Twitter) will be settled by the company behind the social media network. The amount to be paid will not have any limits.
If you were unfairly treated by your employer due to posting or liking something on this platform, we will fund your legal bill.
No limit.

One of the users wrote:
“That’s amazing. It brings fairness and transparency with work ethics and integrity in all workplaces. Thank you, Elon Musk.”
Another user @jonatha26052632 stated that “this is beyond awesome. Nobody asked him to do it. Nobody expected him to do it. Could cost him and the company imaginable amounts of money. But if it works… If corporations and institutions hear about this and are scared straight, we all win.”
One user pointed out that there should be more clearance on what can be considered ‘unfairly treated.’ Besides, it is yet to be explained how to ask for assistance.
Some users gave specific examples of the ‘unfair treatment’ from the companies they worked for as a result of their activity on X.
For instance, user @DrPuerner shared he had been downgraded in his professional assessment because of using Twitter. A number of people stated they became unemployed as a result of activity on the platform. All of them are now waiting for action from Elon Musk and X.
Elon Musk Fighting for Freedom of Speech
Since acquiring Twitter Inc in 2022, Elon Musk has been calling himself a ‘free speech absolutist’ fighting ‘against censorship that goes far beyond the law.’
Earlier, Musk stated that “free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated.”
In response to critics saying that complete freedom of speech would lead to offense and violence, Musk said:
“We call it freedom of speech, not freedom of reach. Yes, you can say offensive things, but then your content is going to get rated down. So if you’re a jerk, your reach will drop. I think people should be able to say things because the alternative is censorship. I think if you go down the censorship route, it’s only a matter of time before censorship is turned upon you. Twitter was having a corrosive effect on civil society, but I think today most people would say their experience has improved.”
Under his ownership, Twitter has undergone multiple changes, including reducing content moderation, replacing the existing Twitter verification system with a paid subscription service, layoffs of the staff, and most recently rebranding the platform as X. Besides, X has reinstated several accounts that were banned for policy violations within the previous ownership.
