Hamster Kombat Bans Over 2 Million Cheaters, Confiscates Billions of Tokens

“Cheaters don’t belong in our community,” were the words of Hamster Kombat on their X page explaining how they have banned over 2.3 million users who were caught cheating on the platform.

Hamster Kombat is a popular tap-to-earn game on Telegram that has amassed over 300 million users. However, among these millions of users, the team has discovered many who have been using illegal means to gain more profit from the platform.

Hamster Kombat revealed that they have been analyzing user behavior for months and have studied and identified different patterns that point out cheaters at various times. A notable example is one user who connected over 400 accounts to a single Binance address. While that seems minor, another user invited nearly 2,000 friends who were all flagged.

The means by which these cheaters were identified was through the anti-cheat system. Hamster explained that they noticed accounts that were logged in at the same time each day, tapping the exact same pixel. These accounts were automatically flagged as cheater accounts. These bad actors also automated their selling through software to get an edge over honest players within the community.

The team has decided to confiscate the tokens belonging to these bad actors, which amount to 6.8 billion HMSTR tokens. 50% of the confiscated tokens have been distributed to honest players on the platform, while the other 50% will be burned. Hamster Kombat further emphasized that its community will not tolerate cheating as they care more about their players and market participants, particularly those holding the token for a long time, and they want to protect them.

User Reactions and Criticism

This announcement did not go down well with some users who felt they had also been cheated and betrayed by the crypto project. Kumar Praveen, whose comment on the post has generated many impressions, revealed how Hamster has failed to fulfill some of their promises.

He explained how participants, especially crypto newbies, have been misled by influencers. Praveen further stated that while people are at fault for failing to do proper research about the project, Hamster has also cheated the community.

Moreover, HamsterCombat Updates, a fan page of the crypto project with over 80,000 followers, pleaded with the team to help those accounts that were unfairly banned get their accounts back.

Another user, Obj, with over 18,000 followers, commented that the only way Hamster Kombat can redeem its image is to ensure it gets listed at a very good price; failure to do so will lead to HMSTR losing ‘lots of CEOs’ at its Season 2 phase.

Hamster Kombat has already announced that they are entering the interlude season, which is a warm-up before Season 2 and will last for a couple of seasons. This program will give players the chance to earn more rewards, such as ‘diamonds’, which will be very useful in the upcoming seasons.
