Blockchain gaming company Immutable has revealed a strategic collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to develop infrastructure solutions tailored to the cryptocurrency gaming sector. This partnership aims to streamline the process for developers looking to launch and expand their blockchain-based games. As part of this initiative, Immutable has become a participant in AWS’s ISV Accelerate Program.
Immutable reveals plans for blockchain gaming
This program is designed for companies that incorporate AWS services into their products. By joining this program, game developers utilizing the Ethereum-compatible Immutable X blockchain can access AWS Activate, which offers startup-friendly benefits such as technical support, AWS credits of up to $100,000, and additional valuable resources. Immutable’s Chief Commercial Officer, Jason Suen, expressed the significance of this collaboration noting that they ensure that developers are provided with solutions to build and scale web3 games.
The cryptocurrency gaming industry has seen substantial growth, and the partnership between Immutable and AWS underscores the increasing recognition of the potential in this sector. AWS’s Head of Startups, John Kearney, acknowledged the rapid expansion of gaming within the blockchain industry. Although he did not specify the number of crypto firms participating in the AWS ISV Accelerate Program, Kearney explained that qualifying companies must be part of AWS’s Partner Network while meeting other undisclosed requirements.
While Kearney did not provide detailed insights into AWS’s stance on blockchain games, he noted that various game development studios are currently exploring ways to integrate cryptocurrency technology into their gaming experiences. AWS is looking forward to observing the evolution of crypto-powered games and is actively engaging with the Blockchain Game Alliance. These networks support a variety of crypto games, including Immutable’s creations such as Gods Unchained and Guild of Guardians, as well as titles like Illuvium, MetalCore, and Cross the Ages.
