Developer Team NINJA and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment announced the launch of a free demo for Rise of the Ronin. Team NINJA shared that the game’s demo would be available on PlayStation 5. The exclusive open-world action RPG demo will be free of charge, allowing players to try out the game before purchasing.

Sony Interactive and Team NINJA announced the launch of Koei Tecmo’s Rise of the Ronin demo on PlayStation 5. The game’s demo will consist of the first chapter, in which gamers can explore Yokohama and complete several tasks. Team NINJA also revealed various player data collected since the game was launched earlier this year.
Team NINJA reveals the Rise of the Ronin demo on PS5
Team NINJA and Sony announced the upload of the Rise of the Ronin demo after the game’s launch in May. Team NINJA, the developer, stated the demo would allow players to try the game out before purchasing. The team added that the demo is now available on PlayStore and will give gamers access to Koei Tecmo’s game’s first chapter. Team NINJA said players could keep all their progress if they purchased the game.
The developer also stated that players can now download a quartet of free player avatars from PlayStore.It added that once the data from the demo is saved, it can be carried over to the game upon purchase.
“Team Ninja borrows the open-world familiarity and historical tourism of Assassin’s Creed while adapting its own breed of hardcore action for the mainstream.”
The demo consists of the game’s first chapter, where players can garner rewards by hunting down fugitives and attacking opponent camps. The chapter culminates into a duel against Gonzo.
Data reveals that 51% of the players chose to play on the Dusk difficulty level
The data revealed that more players spared Gonzo’s life than the 35% who killed the fictional character. The choice is said to alter the game’s course, as players who spare Gonzo’s life can recruit him in a Bond Mission.
The data also indicated that 42% of the players created a level 4 personal bond with their characters, while 30% sparked romances. Fumihiko Yasuda, the game’s director, expressed his surprise after the data revealed that players had been able to perform almost 2 billion counterparts since the game’s launch. About 51% of the players reportedly chose to play the game on the Dusk difficulty level, while 36% chose the Dawn difficulty level. Only 13% opted for the Twilight difficulty level, and 18% selected the Midnight difficulty level.

The player stats also revealed that over 15% of the gamers had collected 100 cats, while 35% beat the 50 fugitives required to attain the Keeper of the Peace trophy. However, there was no mention of players who had defeated all 91 fugitives.
Rise of Ronin developers announced updates in May, including new Ally Missions at the midnight difficulty level. The updates also included training against opponents such as your blade twin and the Path of Chaos mission, which featured different enemies each round.
As of mid-June, Rise of the Ronin was announced to be Koei Tecmo’s best-selling game despite being exclusively available on PS5.
