Back in June 2023, Ubisoft announced that it was working on its Web3 game, Champions Tactics. Then later in September, the company formally released the first official trailer for the game.
Later towards the year’s end, it released a 9999 pixelated PFP NFT collection called The Warlords of Champions Tactics. While these NFTs did not correspond to in-game characters, they were a ticket to an upcoming mint scheduled for January 2024. However, there’s not much news about it yet. In the meantime, the floor price of the collection has reached 0.0669 ETH from 0.189 ETH on 13th January.
But the good news is that recently, Ubisoft started giving us more sneak peeks into the actual game. And without any doubts, it does look absolutely fantastic!
First look at Champions Tactics
Earlier this week, Champions Tactics gave us a first look at the collection. Each champion has unique stats and abilities that players can use in this PVP tactical RPG.
We’ve also seen some Champions Tactics getting into big collaborations with leaders in Web3. In March, it collaborated with big names like Magic Eden, and OrdinalSigmaX. The game is certainly headed in the right direction.
Ubisoft has also collaborated with Immutable, The Sandbox, and Animoca Brands in the past. Due to its Web3 friendly stance, the outlook for Champions Tactics does seem very positive.
As for the response on social media, it looks like Ubisoft has managed to recover the excitement after the delays in the mint scheduled for January.
What’s next for Champions Tactics?
In the latest development, the team will be present at the Paris Blockchain Week between April 9 – 11. The official account of Champions Tactics verse invited all gaming enthusiasts in its community to visit and connect with the developers in a tweet.
