Electronic Arts intended to announce the game’s release dates through a special release date trailer. However, Warrior64, a popular gaming figure, posted on X the game’s release date seven hours earlier to his 1.1 million followers.
A familiar face to Dragon Age fans also appeared in the trailer. Morrigan, a fan-favorite character, will be returning to the game. The trailer also showed longer glimpses of the game’s protagonist, Rook, than the scenes revealed by the leaked video.
BioWare fans have waited for Dragon Age: The Veilguard for a decade. The game serves as the next chapter of Dragon Age: Inquisition, published in 2014. It will be available on various gaming devices, including the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Microsoft Windows.
The game’s standard edition will retail for $70 for console players using PlayStation 5, Xbox One X, and Xbox One S. The PC port will cost players $60, $10 cheaper than purchases made for the consoles mentioned. The game’s PC version will be published on Steam for Microsoft Windows devices.
Additionally, the developers have incorporated a bonus giveaway for players who pre-order the game before its release date. Pre-order accounts will receive limited edition Blood Dragon cosmetic armor, mage, and rogue classes.

The Canadian game developer also released a press release and a blog post concerning the imminent launch of The Veilguard. The blog detailed that the BioWare Gear Store was updated to incorporate the Rook Coffer collection, retailing for $150, and other Veilguard-themed merchandise.
The Rook Coffer collection has several items, including Rook’s deck of cards and a light-up Lyrium dagger. However, the purchase will be made separately from the game. BioWare announced plans to reveal more details about the game before its launch.
