The company announced in a blog post that the store will initially be rolled out to users on paid ChatGPT plans.
Artificial intelligence (AI) firm OpenAI has commenced plans to introduce a way for generative pre-trained transformer (GPT) creators to monetize their personalized AI systems. OpenAI will roll out the personalized AIs in its newly launched GPT Store, which is a marketplace for personalized AI applications.
The company announced its GPT monetization plans alongside the launch of the GPT Store in a blog post on Wednesday, Jan 10. “In Q1 (2024), we will launch a GPT builder revenue program. As a first step, U.S. builders will be paid based on user engagement with their GPTs,” it read. The publication further stated that the store will initially be rolled out to users on paid ChatGPT plans.
The GPT Store is located within the ChatGPT website and is a place for users to discover and build GPTs or AI customized for tasks like teaching math or designing stickers. The GPT Store is divided into eight sections: top picks, Dall-E, writing, productivity, research and analysis, programming, education and lifestyle.
