Peugeot, a prominent European automaker, has made significant announcements during its E-Lion Day 2024 event, marking a pivotal moment for the company’s commitment to electric vehicles (EVs) and innovative technology integration.
The event unveiled an industry-leading eight-year/100,000-mile warranty program called “Peugeot Allure Care,” designed to instill confidence in customers considering the switch to electric vehicles. Alongside this, Peugeot also revealed the integration of ChatGPT, an AI-powered virtual assistant, into its i-Cockpit control system, offering enhanced in-car connectivity and assistance for drivers.
Peugeot Allure Care warranty
Peugeot’s new warranty program, Peugeot Allure Care, takes center stage as the company aims to address the concerns and hesitations of potential electric vehicle adopters. This groundbreaking warranty offering will debut with the launch of the new E-3008 electric SUV.
It provides extensive coverage, including the electric motor, charging system, powertrain, and various electrical and mechanical components. The warranty is in addition to Peugeot’s existing EV battery warranty, providing comprehensive protection for the entire vehicle.
This warranty will be available to private and business customers across major European markets, including the UK. Customers must adhere to regular servicing through Peugeot’s established network to ensure the warranty’s validity.
This comprehensive warranty plan is a testament to the quality and reliability of Peugeot’s electric vehicles, addressing potential concerns about EV ownership and providing peace of mind to customers.
CEO Linda Jackson highlighted the significance of this warranty program during the E-Lion Day 2024 event, stating, “We will be the first European brand to do this, and I think this is essential to assure our customers about Peugeot and everything we are offering in terms of electric vehicles. I think it’s also important to give them peace of mind and make that switch to electric vehicles so much easier – stress-free.”
ChatGPT integration: A new era of in-car connectivity
Peugeot is focused on providing customers with extended warranty coverage and embracing cutting-edge technology integration. At the E-Lion Day 2024 event, the company announced the integration of ChatGPT into its i-Cockpit control set-up, marking a significant step forward in enhancing the in-car experience.
The ChatGPT functionality can be accessed through the ‘OK Peugeot’ voice control system, allowing drivers to interact with the AI-powered virtual assistant without taking their hands off the steering wheel or their attention off the road.
This advanced system can answer specific questions, offer recommendations, and even assist with navigation by suggesting landmarks to visit in a city and guiding drivers to their destinations using the car’s built-in navigation system.
Peugeot product director Jerome Micheron described this feature as a game-changer, stating, “It’s a new feature that allows you to command the car while keeping hands on the steering wheel and hands on the road, and it’s going to help us to answer an amazing variety of questions and topics.”
Rolling out ChatGPT integration
Peugeot plans to make the ChatGPT integration available across its entire car lineup, demonstrating its commitment to leveraging AI technology for an improved driving experience. This feature will be introduced on a pilot basis in five countries, including the UK, with the possibility of activation via an over-the-air update.
The introduction of ChatGPT into the i-Cockpit control system aims to provide drivers with an intelligent and intuitive way to interact with their vehicles, ultimately enhancing safety, convenience, and connectivity on the road. This innovative integration aligns with Peugeot’s mission to stay at the forefront of automotive technology and offer customers a seamless and enriched driving experience.
