Japanese company Third Wave is set to disrupt the AI computing landscape by launching an innovative ‘GPU cloud’ service known as Raytrek Cloud. This service aims to make high-performance AI computing accessible to many users without top-of-the-line PCs or GPUs.
Bringing AI to the masses
Third Wave’s Raytrek Cloud is designed to democratize AI computing. Users no longer need expensive hardware to run generative AI workloads, simulations, or computer-aided design (CAD). Instead, they can leverage Raytrek Cloud’s compute resources, making AI more accessible.

This move aligns with the company’s recent reorganization, distinguishing between consumer gaming PCs under the GALLERIA brand and enterprise-centric hardware under Raytrek.
Responding to the data deluge
Third Wave’s strategic move into AI is driven by the recognition that we are experiencing an explosion in data production. The volume of data generated today is a staggering 60 times greater than a decade ago.
Conventional data centers used for cloud computing have raised concerns about power consumption. Third Wave anticipates that future AI systems will operate both on the cloud and on-premises, addressing these issues.
