An investigation by ZachXBT has linked addresses associated with a former professional Fortnite player and cybersecurity analyst with several high-profile account takeovers.
Blockchain sleuth ZachXBT alleges a former professional Fortnite player from Australia and blockchain security analyst has been involved in memecoin scams that have resulted in an estimated $3.5 million stolen.
In a Nov. 27 thread published on X, ZachXBT said wallet addresses tied to former pro-Fortnite player, dubbed ‘Serpent’, had “high exposure” to several Pump.fun memecoin scams involving hacked social media accounts.
The former gamer, who was expelled from the esports organization ‘Overtime’ in June 2020 for alleged cheating, according to gaming TV network, Ginx.tv, was also known on X as a security analyst and a founder of a threat mitigation system called Sentinel.
